Automotive Technician | $25-$45 Flat Rate | Bonus Potential

Location: Schaumburg
Schedule: Five-day workweek; shop hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; technicians receive one rotating weekday off
Pay Rate: B-Level: $25-$35 per flagged hour; A-Level: $30-$45 per flagged hour
Pay Type: Flat rate
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Earning Potential: $75,000-$110,000 annually, based on the stated pay plan and production; actual earnings vary and are not guaranteed
Typical Flagged Hours: 47-55 hours per week; 30-hour weekly guarantee

Dattolo Automotive is seeking experienced A-Level and B-Level Automotive Technicians for its Schaumburg shop.

This flat-rate opportunity offers $25-$45 per flagged hour, a 30-hour weekly guarantee, bonus potential

Technicians work in a newer, team-oriented facility with 11 lifts, an alignment rack, Autel and Matco scan tools, and a strong fleet-service mix.

The shop emphasizes teamwork, employee development, paid training, and a five-day workweek.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair automotive mechanical, drivability, and electrical concerns.
  • Perform general repair and maintenance on domestic, Asian, European, fleet, and light- to medium-duty diesel vehicles.
  • Complete brake, suspension, and general wear-and-tear repairs.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and document findings through digital vehicle inspections.
  • Handle removal and replacement work, including periodic engine and transmission R&R.
  • Diagnose and repair lighting and other electrical concerns on applicable fleet vehicles and trailers.
  • Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle concerns accurately.
  • Complete assigned work efficiently while supporting shop production goals of approximately 47-55 flagged hours per week.

Qualifications

  • A-Level candidates: at least 4-5 years of relevant automotive repair experience.
  • B-Level candidates: at least 2-3 years of relevant automotive repair experience.
  • Intermediate diagnostic capability.
  • Experience performing general repair, maintenance, brakes, suspension, and related automotive service work.
  • Digital vehicle inspection experience preferred; training is available.
  • ASE certifications preferred.
  • Must provide personal tools appropriate for the work performed.

Compensation & Benefits

  • B-Level flat-rate pay: $25-$35 per flagged hour.
  • A-Level flat-rate pay: $30-$45 per flagged hour.
  • 30-hour weekly guarantee.
  • Expected production: approximately 47-55 flagged hours per week.
  • Stated earning potential: $75,000-$110,000 annually; actual earnings depend on the applicable flat-rate level and production and are not guaranteed.
  • Bonus potential; details are discussed during the interview process.
  • Sign-on bonus offered.
  • Toolbox relocation assistance is available, subject to a 90-day retention condition and repayment requirement if the condition is not met.
  • $250 employer contribution toward medical coverage.
