Position Overview

We are urgently seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team at Phyxable PT LLC in Pompano Beach, Florida. This full-time position will allow you to work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality therapeutic care and rehabilitation services to our patients. You will play a crucial role in implementing treatment plans and ensuring optimal recovery for individuals dealing with physical pain or mobility issues.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a hospital in Pompano Beach, Florida. Our facility is known for its modern infrastructure, which provides a comfortable and supportive environment for both patients and healthcare professionals. You can expect to work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and support staff, all focused on delivering exceptional care. The work hours for this full-time role are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physical therapists in developing and executing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Perform therapeutic exercises and interventions as prescribed by physical therapists, focusing on improving patient mobility and strength.
  • Monitor patient progress, documenting improvements and setbacks meticulously, to ensure continuity and efficacy of care.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercise techniques and self-care practices to promote at-home health management.
  • Maintain compliant patient records following HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in documentation.
  • Assist with administrative functions such as scheduling appointments and managing patient intake processes.
  • Ensure that therapeutic equipment and treatment areas are clean, organized, and properly maintained to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient and family questions and concerns to facilitate a positive healthcare experience.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will serve include individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions that affect mobility and overall physical function. Your role will directly impact their rehabilitation journeys, encouraging them toward effective recovery and improved quality of life. With a patient volume of 1-2 patients per hour, you will have the opportunity to deliver personalized and focused care, fostering strong therapeutic relationships.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Florida.
  • Strong understanding of physical therapy principles, including therapeutic techniques and modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented healthcare setting while demonstrating professionalism and adaptability.
