- Prepares and directs live and recorded content utilizing the Ross Overdrive automated production control system & Dalet Newsroom Computer system
- Ownership of show. Make quick calls in different situations and find workarounds in the event of failures.
- Builds master rundown patterns for all shows.
- Works in conjunction with editorial and production personnel to create and execute newscasts and all content utilizing an automated production control system
- Code rundowns for shows.
- Shape overall creative appearance of the content using imaginative video, audio and graphics effects.
- Ability to work well and communicate effectively with others
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to perform under pressure in breaking news and deadline driven situations
- Gives direction and timing to talent and other technicians; May act as a traditional Director when applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Work closely with editorial team on creative look and feel of each production including major special events throughout the year.
- Minimum 3 years of live news television directing experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating multiple screens and software applications simultaneously in a broadcast environment.
- Proficiency with live broadcast production workflows, including technical directing, audio mixing, robotics, commercial integration, live/remote cut-ins, breaking news, video playback, and graphics insertion.
- Experience with Dalet Galaxy, Ross Xpression, Ross Cambotics, Caprica Central Server, video switchers, and audio consoles preferred.
- Ability to punch and call.
- Ability to work in both NBC and Telemundo control rooms.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and make critical decisions in a fast-paced live production environment.
- Collaborative team player.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours with short notice.
Eligibility requirements:
- BA degree in Production or related field or equivalent work experience
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work in Philadelphia, PA
- Must join or be a member of the Directors Guild of America
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
