Description
Inspect, repair and replace furnace and AOD vessel linings. Install refractory and tuyeres.
- Mortar, lay and cut bricks according to drawings, ram roof and furnace refractory and replace arc/AOD shell brick as required.
- Remove damaged or worn parts and linings using chisels, hammers, bars, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance on arc furnaces.
- Operate power lift truck as needed to transport materials.
- Maintain inventory of parts, lining materials, etc.
- Assist with induction furnace repairs as needed.
Requirements
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Basic blueprint knowledge.
- Experience with basic measuring instruments.
- Able to lift and carry 75 lbs.
- Good general knowledge of induction furnaces.
- Familiarity with a variety of refractory materials.
