Full job description
Now Hiring: Laboratory Technician in Cedar Rapids
Shift: 6am - 6pm | Rotating Schedule
Pay: $24.00 / hour
Remedy is currently seeking a dependable Laboratory Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the production departments for a local metal manufacturing company by providing analysis of metal samples from the manufacturing process
Primary Duties:
- Complete mechanical & dimensional testing of metal samples following work instructions & ASTM specifications.
- Utilize router, shear, & other small power tools to shape samples.
- Prepare & analyze solid metal samples for chemical composition.
- Enter data accurately and completely to record test results & communicate those results to required parties.
- Perform preventative maintenance & calibration to keep test equipment in good working order.
- Maintain retention sample inventory for required intervals.
- Support Quality & R&D departments with special testing protocols.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Science-related field, and/or 3 yrs of lab experience; or an combination of education & experience.
- Manufacturing or metals experience preferred.
- General understanding of PCs & related software experience.
- Sound communication, organizational & analytical skills with the ability to plan work.
- Proper use of testing equipment.
- Familiarity with ASTM methods.
