Community Chaplain

Job Description <br><p> Position Summary </p><p>Responsible for providing spiritual and pastoral care to residents, their families, and staff. Provides a variety of supports and spiritual growth opportunities and serves as a visible presence of God’s love and grace.</p><p> Essential Duties </p><ul><li>Assesses needs of pastoral care for residents and their family members and coordinates resources best serve the needs of the community.</li><li>May prepare and lead worship services, Bible Studies, and similar activities.</li><li>Works with Life Enrichment to provide holistic support for residents.</li><li>Occasionally, meets with community leadership toward ensuring support for community priorities.</li><li>Plan and lead memorial/funeral services.</li><li>Provide supportive pastoral counseling to residents.</li><li>May provide support and pastoral counseling to family member or staff as work schedule allows.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul> <br>Qualifications <br><p> Basic Qualifications & Experience </p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree required (preference for ministry, theology, or similar field).</li><li>At least 1 year experience in pastoral care or ministry working with senior adults.</li><li>Must maintain a commitment to Christian teachings including the Apostles Creed, similar ethical principles, and pastoral care practices consistent with the organization’s mission and values.</li><li>Must be able to authentically represent the Christian faith in word, action, and pastoral presence.</li><li>While grounded in Christian faith, the Chaplain must also be able to serve a religiously diverse resident population with respect, compassion, and inclusivity.</li><li>Excellent communication skills – the ability to effectively listen, teach, and guide with compassion.</li><li>Clinical Pastoral Education, four (4) units preferred.</li><li>Comfortable with use of computers and business office technology - Microsoft suite, Teams, etc.</li><li>Must possess excellent customer service skills.</li><li>Must be able to read, write and speak the English language</li></ul><p> Working Conditions / Physical Requirements </p><ul><li>Less than 24 hours per week. </li><li>Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.</li><li>Sits, stands, bends, and moves intermittently during working hours.</li><li>Is subject to frequent interruptions.</li><li>Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.</li></ul> <br>Additional Information <br><p>If you are considering a position at Christian Living Communities | Cappella Living Solutions, we have a wide range of benefits to consider!
