Dental Assistant Expanded Functions

Our office is seeking a Dental Assistant Expanded Functions (EFDA) to join our team. We have a comprehensive practice and offer an array of restorative options to all patients. We are looking for a new clinical team member to bring their expertise and and exceptional care to our team.

Job Summary: The Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions works on behalf of the patient and the dentist helping to assure a high level of professional excellence in oral health care.

Compensation: Flexible Depending on experience and ability

Schedule: Flexible and able to be adjusted but would need to cover at least Wednesdays and Thursdays (8am - 4pm) Additional days and hours can be agreed upon hire

Summary of Job Functions:

• Conduct preliminary evaluation of the patient's oral health, including, but not limited to, charting, intraoral and extra-oral evaluation of soft tissue, classifying occlusion, and myofunctional evaluation.
• Cord retraction of gingiva for impression procedures.
• Size and fit endodontic master points and accessory points.
• Take impressions for permanent indirect restorations.
• Take impressions for tooth-borne removable prosthesis.
• Polish and contour existing amalgam restorations. -
• Place, contour, finish, and adjust all direct restorations.
• Adjust and cement permanent indirect restorations.
• Other procedures authorized by regulations adopted by the board.
• All procedures required to be performed under direct supervision shall be checked and approved by the supervising licensed dentist prior to the patient's dismissal from the office.
