Full job description
Deaconess Kentucky Specialty Clinic is seeking a highly motivated Outpatient Psychiatrist to help grow outpatient behavioral health services in Hopkinsville, KY. This role offers strong clinical and administrative support in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Year 1 guaranteed base salary: $350,000
- Sign-on bonus: $75,000
- Additional earning potential: Psychiatrists typically earn $400,000 $500,000+ based on productivity

Practice Setting:
This outpatient role focuses on psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing treatment in a team-based setting that includes:
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs)
- Licensed therapists providing individual outpatient services
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform psychiatric assessments and diagnose mental health conditions
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
- Provide medication management and follow-up care
- Collaborate with PMHNPs, therapists, and nursing staff
- Supervise PMHNPs as needed
- Provide co-signatures for therapists
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Participate in case conferences and quality initiatives
- Follow ethical, legal, and regulatory standards
Call Responsibilities:
Jennie Stuart Medical Center operates a 12-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit.
- Weeknight call: approx. once every 2 weeks (5:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m.)
- Weekend call: approx. 1 in 6 weekends
- Duties include intake triage, admission orders, and inpatient rounding on weekends
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (MD or DO)
- Eligible for Kentucky medical licensure
- Outpatient psychiatry experience preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
