Full job description

Our client, a manufacturing organization in the furniture and industrial equipment sector, is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join their team. As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the Maintenance Department primarily supporting manufacturing operations and also some facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance, which will align successfully in the organization. This is a contract position of 3-6 months in duration.

Job Title:Equipment Maintenance Technician

Location:Grand Rapids, Michigan

Pay Range:$35 hr DOE plus OT, benefits

What's the Job?

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing machines and equipment
  • Inspect building and equipment to identify malfunctions and determine necessary repairs
  • Support facility maintenance activities like lightbulb changes, paint touchups, clogs and quick cleaning tasks

What's Needed?

  • Strong mechanical skills and prior experience with industrial equipment
  • Experience with woodworking, dust collection, compressed air, pneumatics, and spray booth machinery is a plus
  • Ability to work with CMM systems, track work orders, and utilize CMMS tools like MaintainX
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with iPads or similar devices
  • Facility maintenance skills including general light plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep
