Residential Facility Safety Officer - Full Time
Primary Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Conveniently located in Old Colorado City!
Some sites not accessible by public transportation due to location and/or shift.
Wage: $18.00/HR
Schedule: Sun - Wed: 6PM - 4AM
The Residential Facility Safety Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect:
- Greet site visitors, residents, client employee’s, client, and aid as needed.
- Conduct foot patrols once an hour, complete daily activity, and incident reports.
- Ask unauthorized persons to leave the facility while maintaining a calm and professional composure.
- Exposure to critical incidents and direct emergency services as needed while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a safe distance from unpredictable incidents.
- Work with individuals experiencing significant life challenges, while maintaining emotional resilience.
- Handles unique situations calmly.
- Protects evidence and scene of incidents.
- Uses sound judgement during unique situations.
- Carries out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.
- Does not engage with or in acts involving violence or threats of violence.
- Remains at site for entirety of shift.
- Monitors cameras, observes, and reports potential safety hazards.
Basic Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Above average computer / technology skills needed.
- Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
- Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
- All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
- Appropriate I9 Identifications on hand at time of offer.
- Willingness to travel 25-30 miles to and from work.
- Strong interpersonal and situational awareness skills.
- Must have Swing or Grave shift availability.
- Must have a strong work ethic and ability to work with a high needs community.
- Willingness to accept feedback and is open to communication.
- Must be able to adhere to 15 minute, and lunch breaks.
- Successful candidate will be able to adhere to all security procedures and post order requirements.
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from facility.
- Must be able to obtain Colorado Springs Guard Card License ($117.00 out of pocket) and maintain it every year at the same cost.
- Attendance is required for in-person interview and new hire orientation if hired.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and/or a background in law enforcement is preferred.
