Position Title: High School Biology Teacher


Location: Great Hearts Arlington Upper School (6701 S. Cooper Street, Arlington, TX 76001)


Reports To: Headmaster


FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt

Science at Great Hearts: 

  • Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, Physics (I- Mechanics and II -E&M), Chemistry and Biology

Duties and Responsibilities:​

  • Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.​
  • Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.​
  • Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.​
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.​
  • Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.​

Required/Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
  • Certification is not required for general education
  • All majors are welcome

US work authorization is required

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
