Overview

Beebe Healthcare is the leading medical organization for Sussex County, Delaware, providing a number of diverse and comprehensive health-related programs to an ever-growing population, of all ages. This not-for-profit community-based healthcare group is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with a strong desire to become part of this expanding network of care within the Cardiothoracic Surgery division.

Beebes Cardiothoracic Surgery division is comprised of three attendings, and presently three Advanced Practice Providers. The available APP opening is for a motivated candidate to work as a team member alongside the Director of Beebes Thoracic Surgery Program in all facets of patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the weekly Pulmonary Nodule conference and foster relationships with a mixed group of multidisciplinary providers, both within the Beebe network and with private practitioners.
Serve as Navigator for Lung Cancer Screening program by: independently evaluating outpatients enrolled in a Lung Cancer Screening program; providing recommendations for management based on Lung RADS classification; and maintaining a registry of patients.
Take active part in Lung Cancer Surveillance program.
Evaluate inpatients at time of consult requests, including patients in the Emergency Department
Perform preoperative assessments for both inpatients and outpatients, including History & Physicals, education and counseling.
Assess and manage inpatients during their postoperative hospitalization alongside Thoracic Surgery team members. Document care in daily progress notes and discharge summaries. Coordinate inpatient discharge.
Provide follow up for postoperative patients.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Current unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Delaware

. Valid Controlled Substance Registration with Delaware/DEA

. BLS

Credentials

Essential:
* Physician Associate

Nurse Practitioner (certified in medical surgery)
* BLS - Basic Life Saving certification

Education

Essential:
* Master of Science (MS)

ACNP plus NP certification in medical surgery

Other Information

Strong desire to develop and support a growing comprehensive multidisciplinary Pulmonary Nodule & Lung Cancer Screening Program

Opportunity to develop inpatient thoracic bedside procedural and operative skills.

If the candidate already comes with operative experience, then may participate as first assist for thoracic operations. Our practice focuses on minimally invasive robot-assisted cases, but involves both open and routine thoracoscopy, as well.
