Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast.

Additional Details:

Unit Details: Adult Med-Surg population, primarily age 65 and older; common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, delirium, dementia, UTI, pneumonia, flu, and wounds. RN ratios are 1:5-6 on days and nights; surge staffing may increase ratios to 1:7-8. Daily responsibilities include PIV starts, IV medication administration, wound care, pain management, patient and family education, monitoring vital signs and labs, initial and ongoing assessments, care plan implementation, and interdisciplinary coordination. Support includes CNA assistance with vital signs, bathing, feeding, mobility, fall prevention, labs, ADLs, and Foley care/insertion; a unit secretary on day shift only; charge RN 24/7, who may or may not have a patient assignment; phlebotomy support, though RNs assist with phlebotomy on the unit; IV/VAT team; RR/code team, nurse mentors, and house supervisor; RT, hospitalist, and intensivist 24/7; and remote telemetry monitoring for patients with tele orders. Uses BD Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, Patient Safety Net on all patients, Hoyer lift, Sara Stedy, and Air Tap System.

Floating Requirements: Travelers are first to float to other nursing units based on patient care needs and staffing demands and will take patients within scope of practice on any unit, including Med-Surg assignments in ICU and Med-Surg holds in ED. Required to float within Region 1 as needed: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH for peds only). If floating mid-shift, traveler will remain on the clock while traveling between facilities.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call required. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.

Special Requests: Up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays; time must be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours cannot be met.
