Job Details

Position: BAS Installation Helper
Location: current projects in Fairfax county but most be open to full time travel once complete

Position Overview: We are seeking a dependable, hands-on BAS Installation Helper to support Building Automation and electrical installation projects at government and high-security facilities throughout the U.S.

This is a field-based, travel-heavy position assisting experienced BAS technicians and electricians with conduit, low-voltage wiring, control panels, materials, and general installation activities. Previous construction, electrical, HVAC, or low-voltage experience is helpful, but we are also open to entry-level candidates who are mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools, and interested in developing a career in building automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist BAS technicians and electricians with field installation activities.
  • Bend, route, and install EMT conduit under the direction of experienced personnel.
  • Pull and route low-voltage control wiring and cable.
  • Assist with mounting BAS control panels, controllers, devices, and related equipment.
  • Use hand tools and cordless power tools safely on active construction sites.
  • Stage, organize, and inventory project materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist with basic installation activities based on project drawings and field direction.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Follow OSHA, customer, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Work professionally within government, military, and other secure facilities.
  • Travel extensively to project locations throughout the country.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on field work.
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform physical construction activities, including overhead work.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including assignments lasting up to six weeks at a time.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable government facility access requirements, including background screening and drug testing.
  • Ability to work effectively with technicians, electricians, supervisors, and other trades.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in an active construction environment.

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in electrical, low-voltage, HVAC, controls, mechanical, or general construction.
  • Experience bending or installing EMT conduit.
  • Experience pulling low-voltage, controls, or electrical wiring.
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or HVAC controls.
  • Experience mounting control panels or field devices.
  • Ability to read basic construction, electrical, or controls drawings.
  • Previous experience working on government, military, or other secure facilities.

Work & Travel Requirements
This is a high-travel field position supporting projects at various locations throughout the United States. Assignments may require employees to remain near a project site for several consecutive weeks before returning home.
The position involves regular walking, standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and overhead work in mechanical rooms, construction areas, and other active jobsite environments.
