JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Analyst, Compensation Operations & Enablement serves as an operational partner within the Compensation function, helping connect compensation strategy, systems, data, and execution. This role partners with HR, Payroll, Talent Technology, and Compensation to strengthen compensation controls, support accurate delivery of pay programs and translate business requirements into practical workflows. The Senior Analyst helps identify operational risks, improve recurring processes, and distinguish isolated exceptions from broader process concerns. This individual contributor role reports to the Senior Director, Compensation and is well suited for a compensation professional who combines analytical rigor, strong process discipline, and sound judgment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and enhance compensation controls, processes, data routines, and system partnerships that support the execution of pay strategies and programs.

  • Strengthen the operational infrastructure supporting compensation programs (e.g., annual cycles, recurring reporting).

  • Serve as a key functional partner to Talent Technology, translating compensation and business requirements into clear specifications and practical workflows.

  • Analyze ambiguous compensation operations issues, distinguish one-time exceptions from systemic concerns, and recommend practical solutions.

  • Coordinate and execute successful completion of compensation cycles and enterprise-wide survey submissions (including ad hoc job evaluation, matching and benchmarking)

  • Build and/or maintain compensation quality-assurance routines, audit checks, validation procedures, and reconciliation processes.

  • Coordinate compensation operations for Managed Hotel associates, including pay structures, merit cycles, and pay-practice guidance

  • Review manual processes and document recommend opportunities to automate, standardize, simplify, and scale recurring work.

  • Collaborate effectively with partners across HR, Payroll, Talent Technology, and Compensation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Employment Experience

  • 4-6 years of experience in compensation, HR analytics, HR information systems, or a related environment requiring accuracy, analytical judgment, and disciplined process execution.

  • Experience supporting annual or recurring compensation cycles .

  • Working knowledge of compensation administration, including the ability to recognize when a data issue may indicate a broader process, control, or system concern.

  • Experience with audit activities, process optimization, automation, or HR technology is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills, including experience working with large datasets, formulas, data validation, reconciliations, and recurring reporting routines.

  • Ability to perform data quality reviews and develop or maintain controls that support accurate compensation administration.

  • Ability to translate business and compensation requirements into repeatable processes, practical workflows and/or system specifications.

Additional Skills & Competencies

  • High attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to data accuracy, process control, and dependable execution.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess complex or ambiguous issues and identify practical solutions.

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to document decisions, manage dependencies, and coordinate recurring processes.

  • Sound judgment and the ability to identify and communicate potential risks before issues arise.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and nontechnical partners.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in compensation, human resources, HR information systems business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Relevant compensation, analytics, process improvement, audit, or project management certifications are preferred but not required.

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus under Choice’s Management Incentive Plan (MIP).

Pay ranges listed are what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. Actual pay may be higher or lower and ranges may be adjusted in the future. Pay positioning within the range is influenced by factors including—but not limited to—education, experience, skills, certifications, performance, geographic location, business needs, seniority, and travel requirements.

This role is based at Choice Hotels' headquarters in North Bethesda, Maryland, and follows a hybrid work model, with a combination of in-office and remote work based on business needs and team expectations.
