Northrop Grumman Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit designs, manufactures and operates small and medium-class spacecraft for communications, imaging, scientific, exploration and national security space applications. MEP is the leading supplier of space components that power and enable satellites of all classes, provides technical engineering services to government agencies and laboratories, and is developing exciting new satellite servicing and advanced space flight technologies.

The Propulsion team within the Mission Enabling Products Business Unit is the leading supplier of pressure vessels and tank hardware to the aerospace industry. You will work on assigned programs on non-recurring work as well as provide technical support on the shop floor.

Our Propulsion team in Commerce, CA is seeking an Inventory Material Control Support Level 3 to join our 1st shift team. 

The Inventory Material Control employee compiles records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, in stock, or issued. Requisitions needed supplies; verifies material received to determine irregularities in order; inspects articles and rejects defective ones. Prepares inventory records and reports and investigates discrepancies in stock counts.

Job Duties:

• Kit parts per Bill of Materials.
• Analyze inventory trends including shortages, excess, obsolete material, and transaction errors.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and help implement standardized inventory control practices.
• Maintain stock rotation and ensure disposing of any outdated or expired stock.
• Perform Inventory Transactions within ERP system.
• Ensure warehouse space is utilized effectively, kept clean, and orderly.
• Ensure electronic relocation transactions are completed in ERP system when physical movements of items are performed.
• Ensure integrity of inventory thorough regular review, and that cycle counts are completed per sites guidelines.
• Coordinate movement of overflow tooling/materials to and from onsite and offsite storage facilities.

 

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years Shipping, receiving, and/or inventory control experience.
• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Perform physical requirements of the position: using pallet jack or other equipment to move parts weighing up to 50 lbs, as required.
• Forklift certified or ability to obtain Forklift certification.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Costpoint, or similar enterprise systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) 

Primary Level Salary Range: $51,400.00 - $85,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
