What You'll Do
As a Labor & Birth RN, you'll utilize the nursing process to provide exceptional care for mothers, infants, and families through every stage of the childbirth experience.
Clinical Excellence
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care
- Monitor and manage laboring and high-risk patients
- Recognize and respond to emergent situations
- Utilize evidence-based practice to guide patient care
- Advocate for mothers, babies, and families
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
Critical Thinking & Leadership
- Manage complex patient assignments
- Independently evaluate changing patient conditions
- Lead and respond effectively during emergencies
- Serve as a clinical resource for peers
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Patient & Family Education
- Provide individualized education based on patient needs
- Support families throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Promote positive outcomes through effective teaching and communication
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (expected)
- Current RN License (or Compact License)
- BLS Certification (AHA)
Additional Certifications
- NRP Required
- ACLS Required
- Intermediate Fetal Heart Rate Training Provided for Labor RNs
