Position Overview
The Athletics Therapy Center, located in Sterling, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic therapy team in a hospital setting. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and execute individualized treatment plans under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and activities of daily living to promote physical recovery.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, sharing insights and updates with the healthcare team to adjust care strategies as necessary.
- Create a safe and motivating environment for rehabilitation, using encouragement and positive reinforcement to aid patient compliance.
- Engage in proactive communication with patients and their families to foster a supportive atmosphere.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance treatment outcomes through collaborative discussions about patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our patient population primarily includes adults recovering from surgical interventions, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. The ideal candidate should be prepared to interact empathetically with a diverse range of patients, working closely with those who may face mobility challenges due to age, illness, or injury. Your role as a PTA will require a keen understanding of the unique needs of each patient to tailor interventions that promote optimal recovery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Virginia or eligibility for licensure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering person-centered care.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a hospital setting or long-term care facility.

Compensation and Benefits
