Summary/Objective: The Sustaining Manufacturing Engineering (MEG) Manager leads the global sustaining engineering teams to develop new and improve existing manufacturing processes and tooling / equipment. This position is responsible for defining and implementing a Manufacturing Engineering strategy that supports new and emerging manufacturing technical needs and manufacturing scalability. This positions also oversees the development and optimization of manufacturing processes to achieve required manufacturing capability and cost efficiency.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
- Manage the global sustaining manufacturing engineering teams to provide a high level of service to global operations teams for Safety, Service, Cost, and Quality.
- Lead the global sustaining manufacturing engineering teams in prioritizing projects, managing resource allocation, project communications and progress tracking to ensure on-time successful completion.
- Coach and oversee the designs and implementation on new and optimized tooling and equipment. Driving best practices and standardization across the global teams.
- Develop best practices for sustaining engineering workflows for design, qualification, and implementation of projects.
- Collaborate and work with other Samtec engineering teams to develop and standardize processes and equipment designs.
- Manage planning and execution of capital appropriation requests for development of new equipment and optimization projects. Support production teams for duplicate equipment builds / integrations.
- Develop and maintain team KPI's to track performance and measure the impacts to the business.
- Manage the support structure and processes for sustaining manufacturing engineering resources that assist in quality problems resolution and support unplanned manufacturing floor issues.
- Support machine transfers and site qualifications from internal and external equipment builds
- Ensure all safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times.

Required Experience:
- 7-10 years related engineering experience in manufacturing.
- 5 years of management experience.
- Proficient in designing and developing manual, semi-automated, and/or automated machinery. Experience using 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft systems (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Proficient in time / project management to meet deliverable due dates
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to promote collaboration among multiple groups both on-site and off-site.
- Proficient understanding of GD&T
- Lifting Requirements: Light Work - must be able to lift up to 20 pounds regularly from floor to waist.
Education:
- B.S. in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline is required.
- Proficient understanding in Lean Manufacturing and six sigma methodologies is preferred.
