Position Details:
  • $22.50 per hour
  • Early morning start Monday through Friday. Home every night.
  • Local Routes, out of Cedar Rapids Warehouse location

Position Purpose:

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers!

Delivers product to customers in a professional, safe and efficient manner, while complying with Department of
Transportation (DOT) regulations. Provides a personal link to the customer by ensuring courteous customer
service in handling customers' questions or problems

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • • Operates a straight truck to deliver product to customers.
  • • Maintains accurate records required by state and/or federal regulations. This includes driver’s logs and mileage and fuel reports.
  • • Serves as vital communications link between customers and operations management to provide quality customer service. This may include discussing delivery times, explaining invoices or credit/billing procedures and responding to questions.
    • Unloads truck at delivery site, which involves lifting product weighing up to 60 pounds, in a safe manner.
    • May operate assistive equipment (liftgate, ramps, electric pallet jack, handcart).
    • May operate an on-board computer to enter/access data.
    • Maintains truck in good operational condition by inspecting it regularly.
    • Complies with MDG’s health and safety programs.
    • Delivers product to customer based upon standards developed by the location.
    • May load product onto truck, which involves lifting cases of product weighing up to 60 pounds.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or
Equivalent Experience
• Good driving record.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations.
• Ability to operate straight trucks.
• Ability to read and write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to directly resolve, or initiate process of conflict resolution.
• Ability to operate assistive devices/product handling equipment.
• Ability to take and follow instructions.
• Ability to work 3-5 days per week with 10–15-hour shifts, which includes up to 10 hours of driving time (could
be up to 60 hours on-duty time per week).
