Full job description
As we expand our neurological health services across the Northwell Health System , the Department of Neurology is seeking BC/BE neuromuscular neurologists to join our expanding multi-disciplinary team. Northwell Neurology offers flexible positions, which includes a combination of inpatient and ambulatory responsibilities. Full-time opportunities are available in the following locations:
- Long Island:
Suffolk County:
- Peconic Bay Medical Center (Riverhead)
- Mather Hospital (Port Jefferson)
- Staten Island
- Staten Island University Hospital
The Department of Neurology has seen tremendous growth over the past five years across all regions, with the goal of providing comprehensive, integrated health care and wellness services. Inclusion within the service line offers the opportunity to connect with a large group of neurologists, academic, teaching, world class grand rounds, conferences and the ability to discuss and share cases with experts in every subspecialty. At Northwell Health's Institute for Neurology , we have three hospitals ranked in the top 50 in U.S News & World Report (North Shore University Hospital being the highest at #22 in the nation) as well as four comprehensive stroke programs, 11 primary stroke centers and 1 thrombectomy capable center.
The Department of Neurology, led by Dr. Souhel Najjar , a world-renowned Neurologist, internationally recognized for his clinical, research and teaching expertise has seen tremendous growth over the past five years across all regions. The department brings together the vast resources of Northwell Health and the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell to provide state-of-the-art care while contributing to advances in technology, education and research.
We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package. In addition, an academic appointment with the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is commensurate with credentials and experience. Physicians will be employed as members of Northwell Health Physician Partners, the seventh largest medical group in the country.
Candidate Qualifications:
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following qualifications and experience:
- D. Degree from an accredited institution (ACGME or foreign program that is similarly appropriately accredited)
- Completion of Neurology residency and Neuromuscular fellowship
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology
- Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a physician in the State of New York
