Pastry Sous Chef Benefits:

Pastry Chef Requirements:

  • Culinary degree from an accredited culinary institute
  • 4+ years’ experience in culinary management in an all- scratch kitchen managing a team
  • Extensive knowledge and skill in a variety of baking and pastry techniques and production
  • Experience in a private club, fine dining, luxury hotel, or high-volume banquet environment preferred
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Good tenure

Pastry Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Train, mentor, and coach the pastry team to be the best
  • Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Knowledge of classical and modern pastry techniques, baking, plated desserts, and chocolate work
  • Create pastries, and develop recipes for seasonal menus, à la carte dining, banquets, and special events
  • Proficient in inventory, ordering, scheduling, and the ability to analyze food and labor cost
  • Meet with members to discuss details and plan desserts and pastries for special occasions
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and cleanliness
