JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX News is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter Senior Staff Broadcast Network Engineer to join the team in NY. As the Sr. Staff Broadcast Network Engineer, you will focus on Broadcast Media Technologies. Your responsibilities will be to design, implement, and administer highly resilient and scalable network(s) supporting media workflows for live broadcast systems for Fox News. 

As a Broadcast Network Infrastructure team member, you will work closely with other Broadcast teams to integrate solutions and services supporting real-time media/broadcast business requirements.


A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architecture/Engineering responsibilities
    • Gathering and assessing current network configuration, identifying risks, and proposing alternative solutions.
    • Design and implement new technologies that simplify the network environment while improving security and performance.
    • Work with the SDN team to design networking solutions capable of transporting live content(uncompressed) over dedicated high-bandwidth IP networks.
    • Manage projects and report progress to management and team members.
    • Collaborate with outside vendors to successfully test and integrate new technology.
  • Operational responsibilities:
    • Network capacity planning, performance assessment, and troubleshooting.
    • Collaborate with teams across the organization to troubleshoot service-impacting issues.
    • Track, report, and proactively deploy firmware/software updates on switching equipment when needed.
  • Create and maintain up-to-date documentation of the network environment detailing the configuration of deployed solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • A proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale mission-critical networks.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex problems while delivering innovative solutions.
  • Knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 – Professional Media Over Managed IP Networks standards.
  • 10+ years working with large-scale networks.
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with network platforms such as Arista, Cisco, and PaloAlto. 
  • Expert network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness and ability to teach and train others.

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER

  • Media Technology and broadcast experience.
  • Experience with automation and scripting.
  • Cisco CCNP, or equivalent Arista certification.
  • Experience with Spine-leaf (VxLan) Architecture.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $143,000.00-200,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
