Work Environment

Your role as a PTA will take place onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, where you will collaborate closely with physical therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team setting. The standard working hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in the assessment process by gathering relevant patient data, conducting preliminary tests, and reporting findings to inform care plans.

  • Implement treatment programs tailored to orthopedic patients under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.

  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment techniques as needed based on each patient's response and recovery trajectory.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and caregivers about treatment goals, progress, and home care exercises to ensure understanding and compliance.

  • Manage patient appointments and coordinate therapy schedules to optimize workflow and enhance patient satisfaction.

  • Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and in working order to provide a safe environment for patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this position involves working with a diverse patient demographic, predominantly serving individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will be pivotal in aiding patients regain their strength and mobility, guiding them through rehabilitation to achieve optimal functional outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.

  • Hold a valid Physical Therapy Assistant License in the state of Nevada upon hire.

  • Current National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

  • Demonstrated competence in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic conditions.

  • Excellent communication skills to foster a supportive and comfortable environment for patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, with a focus on orthopedic physical therapy preferred.

  • Experience in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to document treatment sessions and progress notes effectively.

  • Familiarity with various physical therapy modalities and treatment techniques specific to orthopedic rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
