Full job description
A Day in Your Life at MKS
As a Machine Shop Maintenance Mechanic at MKS, you will work independently and with the Maintenance Team to perform preventive maintenance on machinery essential to keeping the machine shop operating safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining coolant and oil levels and performing preventive maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines. In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By
· Preventive Maintenance: Performing regular service checks, changing fluids and coolants, lubricating moving parts, and replacing worn filters and belts.
· Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical issues when machines fail, dismantling equipment, and replacing damaged or worn components.
· Calibration: Adjusting and testing machinery to ensure it meets precise operating and safety standards.
· Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and parts used in shop logs or computerized maintenance systems.
· Shop Upkeep: Keeping tools, work areas, and safety equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
Skills You Bring
· Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent, plus hands-on mechanical experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
· Small engine repair experience helpful
· Technical Skills: The ability to read and interpret technical manuals and proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
· Safety Mindset: A strong commitment to OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, reach, and twist; and lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
· Work Environment: Noise levels in the work area are typically moderate
Pay Range: $16.70 - 27.83 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
