Description
Supervises athletic fields, parks or other assigned recreation facilities; maintains all established safety measures, provides first aid, issues and enforces rules and regulations and interprets guidelines; maintains equipment security; sets-up facility for public use and cleans up for programs, rentals and athletic events; opens, closes and secures building/facility and keys; completes reports. Assists the Recreation Program Supervisor with planning, coordinating, implementing and supervising a wide variety of programs, camps, activities and events.

- Supervises programs, events, or camp activities by leading or instructing assigned camps and event activities.
- Assists with supervision of participants; assists with participant surveys and program evaluations; and assembles, inspects, distributes, and inventories program equipment.
- Provides a wide variety of administrative support including providing customer service support; answering phones; collects and compiles revenue and program evaluations and assessments.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES- Performs additional duties to support operational requirements as assigned.

Education and Experience
Completion of High School or GED and up to one year of experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the specific requirements listed above
Certifications/Licenses- Current CPR/AED certification
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record according to City criteria
Job Knowledge
Basic familiarity with the work to know common principles and terminology and to understand and solve simple problems.
Reading
Intermediate: Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference materials.
Writing
Basic: Ability to write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and/or series of numbers, names, and addresses.
Math
Basic: Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Communication Skills
Requires regular & routine interaction involving exchange and receipt of information.
Independence and Decision-Making
Normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. The assignment is usually reviewed frequently.
Technical Skills
Comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organization.
Fiscal Responsibilities
No budgetary/fiscal responsibility.
Supervisory Responsibilities

- Responsible for appropriate use and maintenance of City equipment, tools and other resources, including work time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is normally performed in an outdoor or recreational setting. The employee is not exposed to environmental hazards and does not normally require the use of protective equipment.
