Full job description

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of this position is to assist CAM with the Ethington Theater.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

Student will aid the technical director and master electrician in execution of designs for Ethington Theatre’s main stage productions which includes but is not limited to:

  • Set construction
  • Welding
  • Light focus/hang
  • Operating shop tools and machinery including but not limited to woodworking tools, steel cutting and grinding tools, and electrical equipment

 Equipment used and responsibility:

  • Computer
  • Copier
  • Hand tools and Power tools
  • Table saw and chop saws – virtually any and all construction tools
  • Ladders and personnel lifts and climbing equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and climb ladders and work at height

Qualifications:  

  • Student should have a working knowledge of basic construction, lighting, and tool usage. Familiarity with theatre methodology is highly recommended.
  • Valid Drivers License and Clean Driving Record required

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements. 

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
