Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing estimating team.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of construction estimating experience and exposure to a combination of federal and commercial construction projects. You should be comfortable estimating projects ranging from approximately $500K to $20M and working independently in a remote environment while collaborating closely with operations, leadership, subcontractors, and the rest of the estimating team.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed estimates for federal, commercial, institutional, and related construction projects
Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and other bid documents
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates
Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts
Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
Assist with bid strategy and project pursuit decisions
Maintain accurate estimating documentation and historical cost information
Coordinate with project management and operations teams during preconstruction and project handoff
Participate in bid reviews with company leadership
Help identify value-engineering opportunities and alternative construction approaches
Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors
Manage multiple active bids and deadlines simultaneously
Utilize Procore and other estimating/project-management technology throughout the estimating process

Qualifications

5+ years of construction estimating experience
Experience estimating projects in the $500K–$20M range
Background estimating commercial construction
Federal construction estimating experience strongly preferred
Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and subcontractor scopes
Experience developing detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates
Strong computer and technology skills
Experience with Procore
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with subcontractors, vendors, operations teams, and company leadership

Schedule & Location

This is a fully remote position with a strong preference towards Eastern and Central time zones.
Typical hours are Monday through Friday, approximately 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST, with flexibility for schedules such as 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
Minimal travel may occasionally be required.
