VDC Designer I

Our client, a leader in the construction and manufacturing industry, is seeking a VDC Designer I to join their team. As a VDC Designer I, you will be part of the Design and Engineering department supporting project teams across diverse commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: VDC Designer I

Location: Houston, Texas (Remote work available)

Pay Range:$65,000 - $90,000

What's the Job?

• Utilizes cutting-edge CAD systems and tools to create intricate construction and fabrication drawings for diverse commercial and industrial projects.
• Develops detailed drawings for manufacturing needs, leveraging technologies like AutoCAD for precision and accuracy.
• Provides onsite support for field personnel when needed, ensuring smooth communication between design and field teams.
• Interfaces with team leaders, project managers, shop fabrication managers, and field supervisors to coordinate project activities.
• Reviews equipment submittal documents for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with project specifications.

What's Needed?

• Associate Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with CAD systems, especially AutoCAD, for creating detailed drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction and fabrication processes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Ability to review technical documents and coordinate with multiple trades to ensure project clarity.
