Full job description

Make a meaningful difference as a travel OT. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve their daily skills while exploring a new location in Wichita, KS. This role is in an inpatient hospital rehabilitation setting supporting an inpatient rehab unit with a 41-bed facility and interdisciplinary therapy staff.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor‘s, Master‘s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active KS occupational therapy license required to start the assignment.
  • Minimum 6 months current acute care occupational therapy experience required.
  • BLS certification required or may be required from AHA or ARC.
  • Experience with Meditech or similar EMR preferred.
  • Knowledge of ESTIM, patient lifts, ADL equipment, gym equipment, and IADLs preferred.
  • Ability to carry up to a 6-hour treatment load in an 8-hour shift.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation settings preferred.
  • Neuro certification or neuro experience preferred.
  • Lymphedema certification or experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working within interdisciplinary therapy teams (PT, OT, SLP) preferred.


Assignment Details

  • Shift hours: 07:00 to 15:30.
  • Every other weekend rotation required.
  • Responsible for meeting a 3-hour daily therapy requirement per inpatient rehab patient and tracking time/charges accordingly.

Clinicians perform evaluations and treatments focused on ADLs and IADLs, provide hands-on care, and support patients who require three hours of therapy per day. The unit uses state-of-the-art equipment and an IADL kitchen to support functional recovery.
