Responsibilities:
The Application Engineer is responsible for performing general engineering functions related to sealing design and applications. This position supports the development of design solutions and technical concepts.
Apply engineering expertise to support sealing solutions across static and dynamic applications, including O-rings and emerging electrification/eMobility technologies.
Analyze warranty data, field performance, and teardown findings to identify root causes and drive continuous quality improvements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal experts (materials, tribology, CAE, and program management) and external customers to solve technical challenges.
Support customer programs and component reviews by providing technical input in program management meetings.
Develop and update seal designs using 2D and 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX) to meet application requirements.
Lead or support problem-solving initiatives, including corrective actions, plant quality alignment, and VA/VE cost reduction projects.
Act as a technical partner to assigned customers—promoting solutions, identifying conversion opportunities, and delivering product training and application expertise.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environment.
Hands-on mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and application documentation.
Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or NX.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with customers.
Highly organized, self-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
