Full job description
Quest Design & Millwork is seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, including safety, quality, productivity, scheduling, cost management, and employee development. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive experience in custom millwork and display manufacturing who thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix production environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead all daily plant operations, including production, manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, maintenance, and facility management.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost.
Develop production schedules and quickly adjust manpower and priorities to meet changing customer demands and expedited projects.
Ensure all products meet the company’s high standards for craftsmanship and quality.
Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, and Shipping to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Develop, coach, mentor, and hold supervisors and employees accountable while building future leaders within the organization.
Monitor production performance using KPIs and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Manage labor efficiency, overtime, material usage, waste reduction, and manufacturing costs.
Understand financial reports and operational metrics to make informed business decisions that improve profitability.
Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment focused on teamwork and communication.
Lead problem-solving initiatives and drive continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of manufacturing management experience, preferably in custom millwork, cabinetry, architectural woodworking, retail fixtures, or display manufacturing.
Proven leadership experience managing multiple departments in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of woodworking manufacturing processes, equipment, finishing, assembly, and shipping operations.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and employee engagement.
Experience managing fast-paced, quick-turn custom manufacturing projects.
Strong scheduling and production planning skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, labor management, productivity analysis, and cost reduction initiatives.
Experience with ERP/MRP manufacturing systems is preferred.
Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience is highly desirable.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) is strongly preferred.
