Full job description
Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented Pharmacy Benefits Verification Technician to support members, providers, and insurance carriers by ensuring accurate insurance verification and prescription claims processing. This is an excellent opportunity for a state-licensed and nationally certified Pharmacy Technician who enjoys problem‑solving and working in a collaborative, fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Locations: Plymouth, MI | Hybrid, but primarily remote (1-2 days a month if needed)
Pay Rate: $22.50/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–8:00 PM; occasional Saturdays (9:00 AM–5:00 PM) and overtime as business needs require
What You’ll Do:
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits through outbound calls and follow‑up communications
- Resolve prescription and claims issues to ensure timely adjudication
- Coordinate with Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) services to support accurate billing
- Assist pharmacists and internal teams with audits and compliance reviews
- Document all correspondence, escalations, and resolutions in accordance with payer and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Active State Pharmacy Technician license (Michigan )
- National certification (PTCB or NHA)
- 1-2+ years of pharmacy experience (retail, mail order, specialty, PBM, or managed care)
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills
- Claims adjudication and secondary billing
- Medicaid and discount card processing
- PBM or managed care environment
