Work Environment

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist position is an onsite role located within one of Fort Lauderdale's leading hospitals. Our facility offers state-of-the-art equipment and resources, including a comprehensive gym for physical rehabilitation and a team-oriented atmosphere enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration. Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients referred by physicians within 24 hours of referral, ensuring timely and thorough assessments.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs, securing physician approval for all services provided.
  • Treat patients following established protocols in conjunction with the referring physician’s directives to ensure optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring high-quality patient care while adhering to state practice acts.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the healthcare team regarding patient progress, challenges, and future treatment plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
  • Conduct training sessions and in-service programs for facility staff, enhancing the overall knowledge base within the team.
  • Document therapy sessions including evaluations, treatment notes, and progress reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Train patients’ families and nursing staff on post-discharge care plans to promote continued recovery and independence.
  • Assist in discharge planning, recommending appropriate durable medical equipment and ensuring seamless transitions out of therapy services.
  • Report equipment issues promptly to maintain a safe and effective working environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Our diverse patient population includes individuals of all ages, from athletes seeking rehabilitation to elderly patients recovering from hip or knee surgeries. Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Florida.

Compensation and Benefits

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
