POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing extraordinary service to both internal clients. The incumbent is also responsible for performing manual labor tasks associated with receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing materials, supplies, and assets delivered to and shipped from Boyd Gaming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)
- Ensures appropriate functions, duties, procedures, and activities of receiving, transporting, stocking of shelves, pulling orders, and delivery of goods are performed, and fulfill objectives and directions from the Supply Chain Manager.
- Provides manual labor in the warehouse and receiving areas by loading, unloading and moving of merchandise.
- Aids receiving personnel by verifying correct counts of items received and noting discrepancies or damages.
- Issues (pulls) and delivers items to the proper destination and obtains signatures to ensure proper documentation of delivery/receipt.
- Maintains proper storage of inventory merchandise to avoid spills or spoilage; rotates stock according to schedule.
- Maintains work area in a safe and proper manner; reports any unsafe and/or hazardous conditions
- Maintain housekeeping of warehouse, cleanliness of facilities, goods are labeled, rotated, and stored property according to HACCP standards, coolers and freezers are within an acceptable temperature range, and all equipment is in safe working order
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
These skills and abilities are typically acquired through high school graduation or equivalent, as well as through a minimum of one-year work experience as a warehouse person or related experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
Ability to maintain all Regulatory licenses within assigned state of employment
Must successfully pass background check
Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Knowledge of:
- Electric and manual pallet jacks, fork lift, hand truck, cart, electric scale. Certifications may be required.
- Handheld computers for the use of receiving, inventory cycle counts, and picking.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to:
- Must be able to perform manual labor warehouse tasks.
- Must be able to operate and be certifiable on equipment such fork lifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, hand trucks, carts, and electronic scales.
- Must be able to operate and interpret handheld computers following standard operating procedures
- This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, wet conditions and noise. Proper ear protection is available upon request.
- This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions.
- This position is physical in nature and requires the incumbent to bend, carry, squat, stand, twist and lift up to 100 pound and push/pull up to 100 pounds in order to store and retrieve items located in the warehouse(s).
- Must be able to review and comprehend all supply chain documents.
- Must be able to effectively and efficiently move around warehouse(s), including climbing stairs, operating on uneven surfaces, and ramps.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work effectively with others and without direct supervision.
- Experience operating hand carts, pallet jacks, and fork lift are helpful.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate a warehouse handheld computer.
