Standard Job Description

  • Receive, check, store and issue all types of tools, dies, gages, fixtures, shop and manufacturing supplies and hardware for all shop departments.
  • Work from manufacturing schedules, verbal instructions, operation sheets and written requests to make accurate and timely system transactions with respect to crib stock arrangements and availability.
  • Prepare complete tool kits for various manufacturing and assembly operations using tools to include machine cutting tools, templates, as well as hand tools.
  • Maintain up to date records using electronic computer aided systems.
  • Use electronic systems to make required adjustments to inventory records.
  • Prepare and complete all related paperwork and reports required.
  • Check all incoming materials against accompanying paperwork and store in proper location.
  • Move tools, dies, etc. between departments, cribs and storage areas.
  • Check stock limits and initiate necessary requisitions to replenish supplies when indicated.
  • Plan and conduct periodic inventories and report irregularities.
  • Responsible for providing a daily supply of paint from main paint shop to Quads.
  • Assist higher grade Crib Attendants in conducting regular audits of toolboxes and inventory logbooks to verify adherence to established tool control procedures, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
  • Attend crib counter and/or window.
  • Maintain storage area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
  • Refer questionable conditions or difficulties to Working Lead or supervisor.
  • Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.
  • Segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.


Basic Qualifications

  • Requires ability to read, write and use simple arithmetic application to the maintenance of files and inventory records.
  • Requires basic knowledge of the use of a computer and storekeeping practices.
  • Requires 2 years high school experience with 2 years of trades training or equivalent.
  • Must possess at least 6 months of professional career experience.
