Job Description:

Mars Snacking- Production Assistant- Elizabethtown, PA

  • Pay: Based off experience starting at $20.08/hour + and $2/hour shift premium
  • This site manufactures Dove Chocolate

Shift Schedule:

Current:

Shift: 2nd (Afternoon)

Schedule: Monday- Friday (some weekends possible)

Hours: 2:30pm- 11pm (Flexible pending business needs)

Future Shift Schedule (2027): 

Transition to a 2.2.3 schedule; 12 hour day or night fixed shifts (more will be discussed during the interview process) 

Description of Role:

The Production Assistant is responsible for operating machines, equipment, and processes within their designated area of the manufacturing plant, ensuring both successful performance and safety.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Proficient in software including MS Office (Word, Excel) and email.

Physical Requirements:

  • Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
  • Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
  • Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or certifications
  • 1+ years of hand on experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Mechanical or technical training
  • Fork Lift driving experience

What will be your Key Responsibilities?

  • Accountable for the performance of multiple machines, processes, and pieces of equipment.
  • Perform routine operational tasks including starting up, shutting down, monitoring, cleaning, basic changeovers, repairs, routine checks, and inspections.
  • Utilize basic ancillary equipment and computer programs
  • Escalate issues appropriately and repair mechanical breakdowns
  • Handle ad hoc requests as needed
