Full job description
The Intern - Non-Compact will assist within their designated areas under the corresponding Non-Compact department that sponsored the intern request. The internship of each student will be conducted in a learning environment that benefits each student’s insight as it pertains to their respective Non–Compact department in relation to his or her college program. Each Intern will report to the department’s designated supervisor and/or shift manager who will assign duties as needed. Interns placed in a department classified as Non-Compact will be licensed as Seneca Nation Licensed employees. Non-Compact Interns may have frequent interaction with customers off the gaming floor. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The Intern will be assigned relevant duties through their designated department that may include operational or administrative duties.
2. Interns will shadow supervisors and/or shift managers on occasion in effort to acquire the skills and abilities of the management team.
3. May be assigned specific projects and/or assignments by their designed supervisor and/or shift manager that will incorporate the objectives of the internship as it is defined by their Educational Institution with the positions job responsibilities.
4. Interns will be required to report to their designated supervisor and/or shift manager on a daily basis to update him/her on assigned tasks and learning experience.
5. Meet the attendance guidelines of the internship and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
6. Provides the highest level of customer service to guests as all times.
7. Respond to all guest inquiries in a professional, courteous and friendly manner.
8. Work current promotional events as assigned.
9. Ensure accurate up-to-date information concerning Casino information.
10. Promote positive public relations.
11. Assist in other projects, as directed.
12. Maintain a current understanding of all policies and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
13. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.
14. Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule.
15. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2. Must be a full-time student.
3. Enrolled in a College or University in an undergraduate or graduate program.
4. Prior experience and/or related coursework.
5. Must have a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
6. Must have proficient computer skills.
Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
1. Must possess excellent communication skills.
2. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
3. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
4. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Salary Starting Rate:
$16.00Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
