Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor the facility’s Infection Prevention & Control Program
Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, and state regulations
Conduct surveillance, tracking, and reporting of infections
Educate and train staff on infection control practices, PPE use, and prevention protocols
Collaborate with nursing leadership, medical staff, and department heads
Lead outbreak investigations and implement corrective actions as needed
Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports for audits and surveys
Qualifications:
Active LPN or RN license (required)
Must have long-term care experience
Experience in infection control, epidemiology, or quality assurance preferred
CIC Certification -Preferred
Skilled nursing or long-term care experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices
Excellent communication, organization, and teaching skills
