Department: County Counselor

Grade: 300NM

Salary: $78,000/year

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for original and creative legal endeavors, including comprehensive research into unique and conflicting legal areas requiring the integration of diverse legal theories in order to anticipate new or emerging developments in the law.
  • May advise, assist, assign, and review work of legal staff; and may advise and assist elected County officials and management at the highest levels in the formulation or modification of County policies and goals.
  • Provides legal advice and assistance to elected officials, County employees, and various boards and commissions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university of law.
  • One year of responsible experience in municipal, and civil or criminal law.
  • Must be a member of the Missouri Bar Association
  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
