Full job description
A well-established Skilled Nursing Facility in Queens, NY is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join its leadership team.
ResponsibilitiesAssist the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) with the management of nursing operations and maintaining high-quality resident care.
Conduct weekly wound and skin rounds.
Support regulatory compliance and promote effective communication across all levels of the nursing team.
Ensure the nursing and medical needs of all residents are met.
Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
Coordinate and direct the planning and delivery of nursing services.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory, best practices, and regulatory standards.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of resident medical records.
Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and orienting new nursing staff.
Oversee the daily staffing process.
Support and monitor infection prevention and control initiatives.
Maintain flexibility to address the changing needs of the facility and residents.
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing setting.
At least 2 years of nursing management experience preferred.
Previous staff education or training experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and supervisory abilities.
Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
