Energy Management Corporation (EMC)
If you take pride in fixing what others can't-and enjoy working with your hands on real industrial equipment-this role is built for you.
For over 40 years, EMC has supported critical industries by keeping motors, pumps, and systems running. We're growing our Salt Lake City service team and are looking for experienced Electric Motor Mechanics at all levels, with a strong preference for senior-level talent.
What You'll Do
You'll work in a well-equipped service shop diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding AC/DC motors and rotating equipment. This is hands-on, skilled work where your expertise matters.
- Diagnose, repair, and rebuild AC and DC motors and electro-mechanical equipment
- Perform teardown, inspection, and reassembly of motors and components
- Conduct dynamic balancing of rotors and armatures
- Replace and repair mechanical components (bearings, seals, brushes, gears, etc.)
- Use precision tools and testing equipment (megger, surge tester, vibration analysis, etc.)
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with confidence
- Operate shop equipment including overhead cranes and test panels
- Support occasional field service work, including equipment removal and installation
- Keep accurate job documentation and time records
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Mentor and support junior mechanics as your experience grows
What We're Looking For
We're open to a range of experience levels, but senior mechanics should be confident working independently and leading jobs.
- Experience repairing electric motors or similar rotating equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical fundamentals
- Ability to read, diagnose, and solve equipment issues
- Experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
- Familiarity with vibration analysis (preferred for senior-level candidates)
- Self-driven with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and ability to support occasional field work
Why EMC
- Steady, skilled work - Not production line work; every job is different
- Well-equipped shop - Work with the right tools and equipment
- Growth opportunities - Build your skills and advance your level
- Team environment - Work alongside experienced mechanics who know their trade
- Established company - 40+ years supporting industrial customers
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role. You should be comfortable:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Standing and working on your feet for extended periods
- Using hands and arms for detailed mechanical work
Energy Management Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
We encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
