Location: Toledo, OH 43606
Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Hours will vary; some overtime, weekends, holidays may be required.)
Full-time: Benefit Eligible
In this role, you will:
- Performs all technical aspects of grossing and dictating tissue specimens using a variety of laboratory materials and equipment under direct supervision of Pathologist or Pathologist Assistant.
- Ensures specimen integrity upon arrival and throughout the entire process.
- Dictates a gross description for each specimen including, but not limited to anatomical site, size, color, weight, dimensions, count, volume, cut techniques, abnormal findings, dissects and prepares tissue for cassettes.
- Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
All you need is:
- An earned associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, obtained from an accredited institution, OR At least 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution.
This education must include 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours of science courses that includes 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination.
2 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
