Department Summary 

RAVN Aerospace’s Logistics and Supply Chain Management Department supports aircraft operations, maintenance, programs, and business requirements across CONUS and OCONUS locations. The department ensures aircraft parts, materials, equipment, and services are sourced, purchased, received, inventoried, stored, and delivered accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable requirements. 

Position Summary 

The Supply Technician supports RAVN’s aircraft maintenance and operational readiness by procuring parts, materials, tools, equipment, and supplies; maintaining accurate and traceable inventory records; and coordinating shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful, with the ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive aircraft requirements while maintaining applicable safety, documentation, and regulatory standards. 

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing and Sourcing 

• Review aircraft maintenance and operational material requirements and verify internal availability before initiating procurement. 

• Source aircraft parts, components, consumables, tools, equipment, and supplies from approved vendors, distributors, MROs, and other qualified sources. 

• Prepare RFQs, compare supplier quotations, research alternate sources and part numbers, and use aviation sourcing platforms such as PartsBase. 

• Evaluate quotations based on price, availability, lead time, condition, certification, quality, documentation, and operational requirements. 

• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, freight costs, payment terms, and other commercial conditions within authorized limits.  

• Prepare and monitor purchase orders, resolve delays and back orders, expedite AOG requirements, and communicate purchasing status. 

• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality, compliance, traceability, and aircraft-readiness requirements. 

Inventory Management 

• Maintain accurate physical and electronic inventory records for aircraft parts, materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. 

• Receive and inspect inventory against purchase orders, packing lists, invoices, and required supporting documentation. 

• Verify part numbers, quantities, conditions, serial numbers, lot numbers, certifications, and traceability documentation. 

• Properly identify, label, organize, and segregate serviceable, unserviceable, quarantined, rejected, repairable, serialized, and lot-controlled inventory. 

• Perform cycle counts and inventory audits, investigate discrepancies, and monitor shortages, excess inventory, obsolete materials, and replenishment needs. 

• Coordinate inventory transfers between RAVN locations and maintain accurate issuance and material-movement records. 

Shipping and Receiving 

• Manage daily shipping and receiving activities involving aircraft parts, tools, equipment, materials, and supplies. 

• Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, condition, damage, quantity, documentation, and traceability. 

• Prepare outbound shipments, labels, packing lists, commercial invoices, and other required shipping documentation. 

• Select appropriate shipping methods based on urgency, destination, value, weight, fragility, and operational requirements. 

• Coordinate and track routine, expedited, and AOG shipments and resolve lost, damaged, delayed, or incorrect deliveries. 

• Support domestic and international shipping in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. 

Material Handling and Warehouse Support 

• Safely load, unload, move, stage, and store aircraft parts, equipment, tools, supplies, and freight. 

• Operate pallet jacks, carts, dollies, shelving systems, and other material-handling equipment as authorized and trained. 

• Maintain clean, organized, secure, and safe warehouse, receiving, and staging areas. 

• Protect materials from damage, contamination, environmental exposure, deterioration, and unauthorized access. 

• Follow applicable safety, lifting, PPE, storage, and material-handling procedures. 

Aircraft, Site, and AOG Support 

• Support aircraft maintenance and operational readiness through the timely sourcing, purchasing, movement, and delivery of required materials. 

• Monitor maintenance and flight schedules to anticipate upcoming material requirements and delivery priorities. 

• Respond to AOG situations by rapidly identifying, sourcing, purchasing, and shipping required parts or approved alternatives. 

• Coordinate material movement among RAVN locations and communicate expected delivery dates, shortages, back orders, and procurement status. 

Documentation, Compliance, and Supplier Management 

• Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, receiving, shipping, traceability, and material-lifecycle documentation. 

• Follow company purchasing policies, approval limits, aviation documentation standards, quality requirements, export-control requirements, and shipping regulations. 

• Protect proprietary, confidential, export-controlled, and other sensitive information. 

• Support internal audits, inventory audits, supplier reviews, corrective actions, process improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives. 

• Maintain productive relationships with approved suppliers, distributors, MROs, freight providers, and other service providers. 

• Monitor supplier performance related to price, quality, availability, lead time, responsiveness, and documentation. 

• Assist with identifying and qualifying new suppliers and escalating recurring performance or compliance concerns. 

Requirements 

• High school diploma or equivalent. 

• Two or more years of relevant experience in aviation, aerospace, defense, supply chain, purchasing, inventory, logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field. 

• Experience obtaining and comparing supplier quotations, negotiating with vendors, and managing time-sensitive purchasing requirements. 

• Strong organizational, recordkeeping, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling aircraft parts, inventory, and supporting documentation. 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, operational environment. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory, procurement, ERP, MRP, or comparable business systems. 

• Ability to comply with applicable safety, quality, documentation, traceability, and regulatory requirements. 

Desired Experience/Skills 

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, aviation, business, or a related field. 

• Aircraft-parts purchasing experience in a military or commercial aviation environment. 

• Knowledge of aircraft part numbers, alternate part numbers, serial numbers, lot numbers, certifications, and traceability requirements. 

• Experience with PartsBase, Veryon, or similar aviation sourcing, maintenance, inventory, ERP, MRP, or purchasing systems. 

• Experience supporting AOG requirements, multiple operating locations, domestic or international freight, or OCONUS operations. 

• Experience handling serialized, lot-controlled, export-controlled, hazardous, or defense-related materials. 

• Familiarity with FAA, DoD, ITAR, EAR, hazardous-material, shipping, or other applicable aviation and defense requirements. 

• Purchasing, supply-chain, logistics, forklift, hazardous-material shipping, or related professional certification. 

Physical Demands 

• Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and working in warehouse and operational environments. 

• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and safely handle heavier items using team lifting or approved equipment. 

• Ability to load and unload shipments and delivery vehicles and use pallet jacks, carts, dollies, forklifts, or other approved equipment as authorized and trained. 

• Regular work in aircraft hangars, warehouses, ramps, shipping and receiving areas, and other operational environments. 

• Possible exposure to aircraft noise, outdoor weather, dust, oils, fuels, fumes, and other typical aviation or warehouse conditions; required PPE and safety equipment must be used. 

• Regular use of computers and other standard office equipment. 

• Periodic overtime, schedule adjustments, domestic travel, or OCONUS travel may be required to support AOG and operational needs. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Work Authorization 

• Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States and complete an I-9 Form. 

• U.S. citizenship may be required where necessary to support access to export-controlled information, security-clearance eligibility, or other applicable program requirements. 

• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances, airport credentials, and site-access credentials as required. 

• Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company driving requirements.
