PhysioSpace LLC is excited to announce an immediate opening for a dedicated Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Herndon, Virginia. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with a licensed Physical Therapist to provide essential rehabilitative care to patients recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgeries. Work Environment
This full-time position is onsite in our hospital-based outpatient facility, where teamwork and communication are paramount. You will work within a multidisciplinary team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and support staff, ensuring a collaborative atmosphere suited for delivering comprehensive care. Our clinic follows a structured schedule, allowing for optimal patient treatment with work hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
- Assisting Physical Therapists in implementing personalized treatment plans focused on improving patients’ mobility, strength, and physical function.
- Administering therapeutic exercises and performing manual therapy techniques tailored to individual patient needs.
- Utilizing modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and cryotherapy under the direction of the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Monitoring patients’ progress throughout their rehabilitation process, documenting responses and adjustments in care appropriately.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify plans as needed to attain optimal patient outcomes.
- Providing education to patients and their families on home exercise regimens and strategies for injury prevention.
- Ensuring compliance with clinic policies by maintaining accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with industry regulations.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your role will primarily focus on patients with a range of orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to post-operative recovery from joint surgeries, muscle and ligament injuries, and various musculoskeletal disorders. As you navigate treatment plans, you will encounter diverse patients, each presenting unique challenges and rehabilitation goals, which makes for a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:
- A current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Virginia.
- An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic outpatient or rehabilitation setting is required, candidates with prior exposure to similar environments will be given preference. Your ability to demonstrate effective therapeutic techniques and familiarity with treatment protocols will be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
