Job Description:
Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient. Administers the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy as prescribed to the patient; monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s)’ responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient’s safety and the safety and effective use of the equipment. Maintains open lines of communication with the patient, physician, co-workers, and wound center about changes in a patient's clinical condition. Maintaining a safe environment in the hyperbaric facility for patients and staff and using approved and recognized decompression procedures for all persons with a hyperbaric exposure to inert gases.As a Casual tech you will work between 4pm - 6am during the week, or anytime during the weekend. On-call week and & holiday rotationevery three weeks.Education Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- If assigned the Safety Director competency, must attend a Hyperbaric Safety Director Course, before taking on the role
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Certification/Licensure Required:
- Current and maintained healthcare professional certification or license as Respiratory Therapist, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist
- BCLS certified within 1 month of hire or transfer
- Complete an approved hyperbaric medicine introductory training course within 6 months of hire/transfer
