Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans as prescribed by the supervising licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring that you meet specific patient goals.
• Deliver hands-on care through various therapeutic techniques including therapeutic exercises, gait retraining, and mobility enhancement to optimize patient recovery.
• Closely monitor patient progress, documenting and reporting changes to the supervising PT, ensuring the therapy approach is effective and adjusted as necessary.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on safety awareness, effective home exercise programs, and lifestyle modifications that promote continued rehabilitation success.
• Collaborate proactively with nursing staff, therapists, and wellness coordinators to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care that addresses all aspects of well-being.
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with Medicare and hospital protocols, ensuring high standards in quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily serves adult and geriatric patients who are recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. Our focus is on empowering these individuals to regain their independence and improve functional mobility in a supportive, empathetic setting.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or relevant field from an accredited program.
• Hold a current license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Virginia.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while delivering compassionate and patient-centered care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage reliably with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting, with a preference for those familiar with geriatric or post-acute care.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain patient documentation.
• Familiarity with performing therapy evaluations and collaborating in interdisciplinary care teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The PTA position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.
