* Openings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down (IMCU) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a background in high-volume hospital environments.Details
* Work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), unit 5J, of a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
* Unit has 16-10 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
* Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
* Experience administering Heparin drips required in this setting
* Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 4 shifts per week
* No on-call responsibilities
* Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
* Block scheduling is generally not approvedRequirements
* Active RN license - Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
* Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments required - candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
* Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situationsAdditional Information
