Role Overview

As a Roll-Off Driver at GFL Environmental, you are the driving force behind keeping our communities clean, safe, and sustainable. You’ll operate heavy-duty roll-off trucks to collect and transport waste from commercial, industrial, and residential sites to post-collection facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive & Deliver: Safely and efficiently operate roll-off trucks and hydraulic hoists to haul, drop off, and pick up waste containers.

  • Safety First: Conduct thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining route quality and reporting mechanical needs or route hazards immediately.

  • Customer Champion: Represent GFL with a professional demeanor, delivering friendly and dependable service to every customer along your route.

  • Precision Operations: Navigate diverse traffic conditions, tight maneuvers, and varied weather with care, keeping cab and equipment clean and well-maintained.

  • Team Player: Collaborate closely with dispatch, supervisors, and branch management to streamline routes, attend safety briefings, and support fellow drivers.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • License: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing.

  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of commercial driving experience or completion of an accredited CDL training program.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Capabilities: Ability to operate heavy truck machinery, perform basic written paperwork (inspection logs/route reports), and meet physical demands (lifting, climbing, stooping, and driving up to 75% of your shift).
