Job Responsibilities:
Join our team as a Tool and Die Tech on 2nd or 3rd shift! We are seeking dedicated individuals to maintain a safe and healthful workplace and keeping tooling maintained to produce quality products. Also responsible for assisting with continuous improvement of tooling, housekeeping, helping to make informed decisions, and having tooling ready for production runs.
1. Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
2. Tig & Mig welding and hand working parts of dies (heat treat of materials)
3. Sound understanding and knowledge of die work/operations
4. Sound understanding and machine knowledge, able to run all tool room equipment including measuring instruments
5. Sound understanding and knowledge of Press and Assembly Operations and Quality procedures
6. Assist in determining spare parts requirements
7. Maintain accurate documentation
8. Train operators and new team members
9. Recommend modifications to existing equipment
10. Establish and maintain communication with other team members and support departments
11. Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes
12. Ensure quality products and know quality procedures
13. Perform troubleshoot tooling (in or out of the press)
14. Work on blueprints, CAD data, sketches, and verbal instructions
15. Efficiently perform Lock out/Tag out Procedures
16. Follow all plant safety policies and procedures
17. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearance of finished parts.
18. Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications.
19. Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of die parts on tooling using abrasive stones, filers, emery clothes or power grinders. Spot dies into proper run conditions.
20. Be able to identify tool ¬¬stacks and how to heat treat.
21. Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
22. Perform other duties as required.
What we are looking for:
High School diploma or GED
Post-secondary education preferred in tool and die, or related minimum of two years’ experience in tool and die capacity
Journeyman Certification is a plus
Preferred qualifications:
General knowledge of troubleshooting, materials and methods, machines and tools, and practical application of tooling
Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Minimum of two years on-the-job training with heavy industrial manufacturing experience in skilled trade capacity
Must be able to provide own tools
Must have basic knowledge of drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)
Basic knowledge in automation

Competitive Pay: Up to $41.38 per hour based on skills and experience.
Shift Premiums: Additional $1.00 for 2nd shift and $0.75 for 3rd shift.
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 paid in three increments at 90 days, 180 days, and 365 days.
